Delphi
Delphi is Embarcadero’s advanced IDE for rapid development of high-performance native applications from a single Object Pascal codebase. In RAD Studio 13.1 Florence, Delphi includes native compilers and toolchains for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows, Windows on Arm, 64-bit Linux, macOS Intel and Arm, iOS Arm64 and iOS Simulator on Arm64 macOS, plus 32-bit and 64-bit Android Arm targets. FireMonkey supports cross-platform application development, while VCL remains the native Windows framework for modern desktop applications.
For Windows developers, Delphi delivers strong VCL support for Windows 11 and Windows 10, including Windows 11-specific VCL styles, High-DPI and 4K support, Per Monitor V2 awareness, WebView2 integration, MSIX deployment support, and access to classic Win32/Win64 APIs as well as WinRT APIs. FireMonkey also includes updated platform support, Skia integration, and a new preview of the FireMonkey Style Designer.
Delphi 13.1 also adds modern productivity features across the IDE, including an extended DelphiLSP architecture with LSIF support, Smart CodeInsight AI-powered coding helpers, SmartCore AI components for adding AI to applications, visual LiveBindings tools, and FireDAC for high-performance access to a broad range of databases including SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, InterBase, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, SQLite, Firebird, MongoDB, and more.
Delphi product editions:
Delphi Professional is the core Delphi edition for building native applications with the Delphi IDE, native compilers, VCL and FireMonkey frameworks, visual design tools, LiveBindings, and FireDAC-based data access. The current matrix notes that some FireDAC capabilities are limited to local connections in Professional.
Delphi Enterprise includes everything in Professional and adds stronger enterprise application capabilities, including enterprise database connectivity, DataSnap multi-tier development, and RAD Server Lite deployment plus a single-site RAD Server deployment license.
Delphi Architect includes everything in Enterprise, plus Sencha Ext JS Professional, Aqua Data Studio, and a multi-site RAD Server deployment license for broader enterprise web and database tooling.
WebStencils extends RAD Studio’s web development story with server-side script-based integration and processing of HTML files, helping developers build modern websites powered by data extracted and processed by a RAD Studio server-side application. In 13 and 13.1, the matrix highlights added support for session data, global variables, integrated WebBroker session authentication and authorization, direct dataset-property access, and HTTP Server-Sent Events.
