SMS PassCode 5.0 released

SMS Passcode offers a cost-effective and user-friendly way to secure authentication. When user logs into a system, SMS PassCode first challenges if the User ID and Password match, once matched, the system generates and sends in real-time a one-time passcode the users’ mobile phone as a SMS message.

The new 5.0 version protects users against modern threats on the internet by first validating user ID and password after which the system generates a code that is only valid for that login attempt and sends it real-time to the users mobile device. SMS PassCode version 5 introduces a new web-based self service portal. This new portal allows the administrator to delegate certain administrative tasks to the users increasing the ease-of-use and flexibility.

SMS PassCode 5.0 also introduces a novel new authentication configuration supporting the Microsoft Direct Access remote access solution. When a user is in the office, they are granted access without SMS PassCode authentication, but as soon as they leave the premises and access the corporate resources remotely, SMS PassCode can prompt the user to enter a SMS based one-time-password as a means to ensure that the user of the computer is indeed the user intended to be granted access. In addition, support for the latest versions of Citrix Web Interface and OpenVPN.

Apple released the 10.6.2 update for Snow Leopard and it fixes the issues QuarkXPress and Quark CopyDesk had with positioning PostScript Type 1 fonts. Quark will remove the "Important Update" about this issue from the system requirements and known issues pages.

The fix has been announced on the Quark forums and it’s also listed in the Apple support page about the 10.6.2 update. Quark recommends that all Snow Leopard users update to 10.6.2 and QuarkXPress 8.12 asap.

Photoshop CS4 11.0.1 update addresses a number of issues discovered after Adobe Photoshop CS4 and Photoshop CS4 Extended (11.0) software were released.The most significant fixes in the Photoshop CS4 11.0.1 update include the following:

The VMware Workstation and VMware ACE products for the desktop do not use processor-based licensing and they are supported on dual-core systems today.
